About Me
21/04/2007 (15:13) by Petri KehusmaaI live in southern Finland in a city called Hyvinkää. My main intrest is astrophotography and I have build my own observatory to better pursue those distant deep sky targets.
Astronomy has been my hobby since 1977 but I really activated year 2001 when I bought my first telescope and started to image deep sky objects with my film camera. Soon I realized that I would need to have more sensitive camera and acquired a new CCD camera by Starlight XPress. Since then I have acquired small APO refractor, two new CCDs, webcam, computers, software, Astro-Physics mount, etc. (see equipment). As you can see, it’s getting more serious than I never thought.
My dream is to find new asteroid, comet or supernova. That’s why I have taken my hobby to a more scientific level. I have joined AAVSO and CBA to contribute their observing campaigns. I have also assisted local researcher at Helsinki University with her asteroid research by delivering asteroid light curve measurements.
I hope you enjoy my blog and I appreciate your visit.
