This is a 40 minutes exposure with Baader 7 nm H-alpha filter and SBIG STL11000M-C2. Weather was poor with high clouds and mist. I had to stop imaging when heavy clouds arrived. I will continue to pursue more Ha and RGB data when weather allows.
This is start for my M42-project where my goal is to get hours worth of Ha and LRGB data. This image is combination of one 2 minutes (for core) and one 20 minutes images.
Operating System reinstall went smoothly and basic elements are installed. Cloud Sensor graphics is working again but other astronomy specific softwares are yet to be installed and configured. That’s tomorrows job.
Due to some mystical issues on controlling the dome and SBIG cameras, I have decided to reinstall the operating system of my observatory computer. This operation will take the Cloud Sensor off-line, so there will be no cloud sensor graphic updates for a while.
Yesterday we had a moment of clear skies and I used it to catch this big ‘jellyfish’. Holmes is closing star Mirfak and it’s a nice pair to image. Equipment TMB80 APO w TV 0.8x and STL11K. Exposure 14 minutes total.
I have combined images of comet 17P/Holmes from 4 different nights. Dates from left to right: 31.10, 1.11, 3.11. and 4.11. Comet is crowing rapidly in size as you can see! Since 4.11. it has been cloudy and I’ve not been able to continue my series.
I made a combination of Comet 17P/Holmes from three different nights. You can see the movement and the comet getting bigger. I hope I can continue tomorrow with a new picture.
I was able to take one RGB frame each and put those together as LRGB image. Total exposure time is now 5 minutes.
